@OWCmacsales i think that pc upgrades are just common since but macs take a rocket scientist

@bunke101 Snow Leopard first, then Lion... for a fresh install I think.

How do you install lion to a fresh SSD?

wow!!! that mac mini is way too small, i could change out my harddrive in my dell faster then what was just showed, lol, lmao. ill i have to do is pop open my dell case, unplug 2 wire's from the harddrive, slide it out undo 4 screws, it takes less then 4 minutes to do it and u have a new harddrive ready to go in the dell. lol.

I would guess that this voids the warranty?

@WeAreTwoDoorsDown Installing the upgrades in and of themselves does not void Apple's warranty. HOWEVER, the warranty does not cover any damages that may result from doing so and physically damaging the computer will void the warranty.

Do you ever consider doing a installation for Mac and PC? Just wondering awesome videos keep up the great work
pacmon99 11 months ago
@pacmon99 Our installation video series focuses on the Apple machines only. With PCs and other computers there are simply too many options available for us to adequately cover all the different installations via video. We suggest contacting the manufacturer of your PC for assistance in upgrading your particular computer.

Is there any particular reason to keep the black wrap? It seems that the original use for it is to cover the exposed board on the hard drive. On the OWC and most SSD's there is not exposed board.
ericisrightDOTCOM 11 months ago
@ericisrightDOTCOM The use is actually two-fold. The Mylar cover does protect the exposed board during installation, but also holds the heat sensor wire in place so it doesn't dislodge while working inside the machine. Both reasons for the Mylar cover are more for cosmetic purposes or ease of installation as opposed to a functional aspect of the computer. There should be no issues if you opt not to re-install it when replacing your hard drive with a Solid State Drive.
