@palmeiraster Thanks, I'm always excited to learn that I've introduced someone to slack key. I hope you find other examples of the style that you enjoy.

This is very interesting to listen to... personally I only just started to learn some old style slack right now it's going great I love the sound you can't hear it anywhere else and can't wait to explore it to see what other sounds we can make....
by the way i'm always nervous about tuning my guitar back up my strings always seem to snap any good way to avoid this from happening

@ringo692 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Do the strings break at the same location? Either the bridge or near the tuning peg? Perhaps there is a rough spot on the bridge? Some people do elaborate twists at the tuning peg that weaken the string. Those are the two ideas I have.

@franguidry no i never pay attention to where it breaks on the string i'll be sure to check next time... do you find your strings snap from going to slack key back to regular tuning. Also check my latest video it's a slack-key piece i learned it's my 2nd or so day doing some ki ho'alu and i'm loving it so far and watching your music gives me something to look forward to

@ringo692 I go to standard tuning very rarely, but when I do the string doesn't break. You should be able to retune often wihout breaking strings.
Good start with your slack key.

Mahalo, it was lots of fun to hear those deep notes ringing around in there. I need to get back to my double slack!!
