@onegoodcat The ideal bellydancer is and will always be curvy! men also prefer meat,dogs like bones! bellydancers are small waisted,wide hips,big butt,breasts,thighs! you cant be a skinny skeleton shaking your bones or an obese round globe causing an earthquake! Im tired of all these losers tainting midl e eastern culture! if u lok at arab women,theyre CURVY! meaning renatta firsso,coco austin,marilyn monroe,andressa soares, not obese and not thin!! ballet is strict! and ppl dont complain!

This is so elegant, sensual & artistic without being vulgar or crass like most western dancing, these days. Women over here would do well to study this. Acting like a pornstar lap dancer ISN'T attractive. This is a celebration of femininity at its best. Alluring, tempting, beautiful, exotic, mysterious & dignified. It has just enough sexuality to suggest the forbidden but it keeps things at arms length. It's wonderful.

Weight has nothing to do with how good a belly dancer can dance. Look at Mardi Love who has some meat on her bones (she's not overweight at all) and her body moves like a snake. She doesn't jiggle her flab. Rachel Brice actually said that a 300 pound belly dancer inspired her to belly dance because she found it beautiful.

@hannalareine Jesus Christ, don't put words in my mouth. I don't think it's ok for FAT OR SKINNY GIRLS to insult each other. Belly dancers come in all different shapes and it's all beautiful to me. I think Didem is a good dancer, but I don't put other people down for their body. Quit with your damn assumptions before you respond to me and read at my actual reply carefully before you jump to conclusions.
