Swim 25 yards. Go under 10 feet and pick the dummy up and swim with it back to 25 yards under 1 minute and 18 seconds or you will not pass the test to attend the L.A. City Lifeguard Academy.
The Applicant will be given two opportunities to complete the 70 foot dummy tow.

  • @cookec22 yes. if you had just swam 500 meters which is the first part of this test

  • I'm from fife scotland and we train and do our exam in a 25m pool and for time swims it's swim 20m tow a casualty who issnt a dummy it's an actual of shift lifeguard 20m within 65seconds then right after it's another 20m swim then turn an unconscious casualty toe them back 10m within 45 seconds it's not hard to be fair but thats just one part of the test

  • pretty sure the dummy drowned, what kind of lifeguard doesn't keep the patients head above the water?is that not criteria for the test there?terrible training

  • i did this in 45 secs, do i qualify?

  • I was told that we had to have 4 modules completed before taking the city test ?? is this true? will they not let you take it if you don't have the modules completed?

  • im doing my lifeguard test in the uk soon you have to do this in 60 seconds or u fail im thinking its going to be realy hard
