Very nice! Thank you for putting this together. I was surprised to see not a single shot of the absolutely stunningly beautiful sunsets from the Northern shore, e.g., Pana, when the clouds encircle the volcanoes and turn colors.

While Mr. Szybist's knowledge of the culture and history of the Atitlan Mayan people seems good, his understanding of the Mayan knowledge of astronomy is sadly lacking. They knew more about the planets motions than Europe did until the telescope gave the latter an advantage, but they wrote little about stars and constellations. The lake has eutrophication issues which were left out, as well as other matters important to the local people.

I hope I get the chance to meet Mr. Richard Morgan, next time that I go to Panajachel. This video is a great tool for teachers!

Great as an educational narrative that cuts quickly past generalities & focuses on Lake Atitlan & the special significance of 2012
@Truthseeker. Thank you for taking the time to comment. The run length of this video was a real challenge and my script editing left much of the potential scope unaddressed. Most especially the points you mention. My respect for the land and it's people, for that matter the indigenous of all lands, runs deep in my heart. I will be making more videos with varied contributors. In the future I will focus on single subjects in order to address depth fairly. My sincere thanks I appreciate your words.
