Shame On You - Stop Shark Finning! Save The Awesome Sharks!

This is an excellent video created by the ONE (OceanNEnvironment) ocean protection group, about the very cruel wasteful and destructive practice known as shark finning.

Shark finning is just what its name implies; its the capture of sharks from their natural ocean habitat where they are dragged onto boats run by illegal fisherman where, while often sill alive and able to feel pain. The sharks have their fins cut off and kept while the rest of the animal is tossed overboard like rubbish and left to die as suffer a slow painful and agonizing death.

Shark fins are used in a traditional Asian delicacy known as shark fin soup, Hong Kong and mainland China make up the lions share of the international shark finning trade with approximately 50% of all worldwide traded shark fins going into these markets.

Sharks are necessary and vital to the ocean ecosystem. Without sharks our planet's ocean could eventually become a watery graveyard, with little sustainable life.

So if you do travel to these places and see shark fin soup for sale in restaurants or advertised please complain and do not purchase it. Thus reducing the demand for these horrific unforgivable devastating practices driven be selfishness and tradition to continue.

Because once the buying stops so can the shark finning trade too.
