Don't call something a "fact" unless it's actually true.

Kanto is based on Tokyo. Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are based on other parts of Japan. Junichi Masuda (The Director of Pokemon Black and White) said on his blog that Unova is based on New York City.

Also, while people think that Ellis Island is the Island where the Statue of Liberty stands, that is also not true.

The Statue of Libery is on Liberty Island, which is next to Ellis Island.
