Ahem. Thailand is 99% Buddhist, there are no Mosques in Phuket (neither before or after the tsunami). There are Muslim people in Thailand, but the vast majority of them live in the southern provinces, not in Phuket. The pictures you reference are of Bande Ache in Indonesia, not Thailand. Thailand is a great place with great people. Please quit your preaching.

dont think you have been to phukett who ever you are i have been and lived in patong there is a huge mosque as you come into patong you wake up and hear them calling for prayer i also know this sound well because i live in saudi arabia for 5 years of my life you should get your facts correct before preaching..... i no i am not a muslim i dont believe in any religion except my own all religion is designed for i WAR... and hate

Mister!!! I'm here to prove you're so damn wrong!!! No.1, Thailand ain't 99% buddhist! At least 8-10% of the whole population in Thailand adhere to Islam and less than 2 % to other religions. Besides, the 4 southernmost provinces are predominantly muslim majority, yet they represent only about 1/3 of total muslim population. Muslims are scattered everywhere in Thailand, especially Bangkok and central region! In phuket alone, 30% of the population are Muslim! Get the fact right!

@texastothailand I was in phuket last week and saw more than one mosk. They have a Muslim minority there. I could even hear their prayer times from my hotel the Deevana.

@texastothailand That's Incorrect,there is a mosque in phuket, I was in the navy and visited there several times and met many muslim people. I always heard the muslim prayer each morning and evening from my Hotel where i stayed and the people were very nice.
