what is the difference between a grip handle and a Steadicam?. Which is better for me for short films? I have a Canon Vixia HG21.

Between Opteka X-GRIP and Manfrotto 585 ModoSteady? which do you recommend for short films?

@venerojo i strongly suggest you get the manfrotto monopod 560 b, the modo w grip handle the likes of merlin takes time to learn. leave the steadicams and go for monopod its much easier:)

he's not holding the steadycam himself but someone else, probably smootly gliding on a bike. I have one myself, it's not such a piece of cake to get better videos. The results are better than handheld but not by much.

totally agree it's not a piece of cake the trick is a light touch on the gimbal and a wide angle lense:)

I just got my Modosteady today. I put a Kodak Zi8 on it and the footage is soooo much better than just handheld. I use the Zi8 remote control to start, stop, and zoom while the Zi8 is mounted on the Modosteady. I'll post my video I shot with it later today. It takes some adjustments to get it all balanced, and I had to get use to just working with. It gets better the more I use it. I'm lov'n it.
