Pogo is a 10 month old hand feed Keel-billed Toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus). He is a wonderful pet and is quite possible the most beautiful exotic bird in the world. Including its bill, the Keel-billed Toucans ranges in length from around 17 to 22 inches (42-55 cm). Their large and colorful bill averages around 5-6 in (12-15 cm), about one-third of its length. While the bill seems large and cumbersome, it is in fact a spongy, hollow bone covered in keratin, a very light and hard protein. The plumage of the Keel-billed Toucan is mainly black with a yellow neck and chest. Molting occurs once per year. It has blue feet and red feathers at the tip of its tail. The bill is mainly green with a red tip and orange sides.

  • @luiscoriano1 Stroke something....not his beak though

  • AWESOME !!!!!!!

  • dose he like fruit loops

  • @queenoftheblackcats I'm pretty sure they're legal as pets in all states in the US. They are, however, super expensive. Toco toucans can be up to $10,000, Swaisons and Keel bills are around 5,000. It's too bad, I'd love one too!

  • why does he want to kill bill?

  • It looks like something from The Yellow Submarine

  • so..are these allowed to be pets in the us? i reallyyyy want one :)

  • @FrostedToasterPastry Did I ask you that or even say that? No you idiot read it in the context of the person who I replied at people do have the right to own animals if they respect them but aka7minimouse has no respect for them at all and that's why I took it upon myself to throw the book at her/him that's lack of respect good pet owners should never be attacked. Read in the context it is written you idiot.

  • @OllieJCSmith I guess dog and cat owners are selfish too. Should just spay/neuter them out of existence since captivity is so terrible.

  • I am reading a lot of harsh criticism. Personally, I do not know enough about this species to determine if a house is a suitable environment, but I do have a Solomon Island Eclectus parrot, and I go above and beyond for his health. I have read some articles that encourage adopting a wide variety of parrots species in order to try to SAVE the species from human encroachment, poaching, etc. So, I think it's a little unfair to judge to owner of this bird so harshly.
