@ErynnGirl1 Yeah, it was confirmed about 5 months ago...different layout, though (and hopefully without that ridiculous rule..."not allowed to defend", pfff...)

Helio needs to follow the rules sometimes. I understand in the heat of the moment that stuff happens and you forget some things, but its been happening alot for him. Maybe he needs to have a hard penalty next time... he can't always use the excuse, "I let him have space..." or "I allowed him some room"... he just needs to cool out, respect the rules that happen to be in place (even if they are dumb), and go with the flow of fair play!

@ATDOINFERNO Sorry to say but it is! Edmonton Indy will be on July 24th...

Unfortunately, I have to say this: Thank God Edmonton won't be back at IZOD IndyCar Series 2011 calendar.

@bubthunder No I take your point my friend....I had just watched a recorded version of the race as I was out at the time and my post was kind of in the heat of the moment, I love your Nascar and Indy and just feel at times it is a little too regulated. To me you are only blocking if you move more than once on your defensive line...apologies if I offended guys.

Helio was fined $60,000 for his outburst. What an unjust punishment, talk about adding insult to injury. First the race win and then the fine and probation for the rest of the year, Helio should quit and race in F1

NOW HEAR THIS!!!!! Rumor, serious rumor, that the whole thing was a planned fake. Seriously! There is an investigative reporter from a major newspaper putting together a story on the IRL in an attempt to reveal the financials over the histroy of the league. This reporter has a mole at the IRL. That mole said this whole "blocking" thing was a set-up and they knew Helio had the "acting" tools to pull it off. This was a contrivance to steal headlines from the Brickyard 400. That was the IRL plan.

Should have been a position swap as standard practice although since this type of blocking could cause a wreck its understandable they might insist on a drive thru. Without this new rule drivers could block almost all passes which forces passes on the outside which wouldn't work. Splitting up the track promotes passing and if the leader blocks by staying inside and crawling around the corner without swinging wide hed go SO slow drivers taking the right line would hit him or crash trying not to.
I just have to say that, what Indycar did to Helio, is a massive disgrace!!! I just can't believe they call it "blocking"... my God! this is racing, where's the entertainment if you just give your position that easily??? just ridiculous! ... and more! he wasn't blocking, they were side by side!! not one behing the other. Helio is a great man and a great driver, he doesn't deserve those things... he should be champion, long ago. Sorry!
