Songwriters Bob Hilliard and Mort Garson presented "Our Day Will Come" to Kapp Records hoping that company would use an established easy-listening star like Jack Jones or Julie London to record it. Instead the company turned the song over to a new R&B act they had signed out of Akron, Ohio, featuring Ruby Nash in the lead called Ruby & The Romantics. Their recording of it was a major success going to #1 in the nation during the winter of 1963. Ultimately the song was covered many times including by Julie London one of the people for which the song was first intended.

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I'm really digging on "Call Me." I'd heard "Summer Samba" before, but I'm really liking the rest of his stuff so far. Thanks again.

I love when the organ starts at the 1:35 mark. Can anyone recommend some more good music based on that?
