@MrDannyGillz See, I disagree, granted hardcore has some powerchords, but they also have guitar solo's. They aren't as Mathematical riffs like metal. Punk was started with bands like the sex pistols, the clash, and and the ramones. Hardcore just grew off that. I just wish hardcore still sounded like it did 20 years ago, not this metallic hybrid hatebreed shit.

Hardcore and thrash are very similar. Slayer was created by a mixture of hardcore, and metal. the little 4 cord shit your thinking of is probably like the clash, or green day. that shit is garbage.
