ELECTRON CHAIN! HYDRO BLAZER! Ah....Star Blazers, Force Five, Robotech, G-Force......What memories! The crap on TV nowadays doesn't even approach the level of imagination these shows had! I always bugged my parents to go to Mr. Big Toyland... To bad it was over 50 miles away. I lived in New Bedford. Seems that everyone who made a comment on this video is from New England....!

Guys, I got good news. Anime News Network (ANN) has reported that Toei will show Gaiking in it's uncut form and in Japanese audio on Hulu. I thought you might want to know since you might want to watch it again but in it's true uncut form.

the story dynamics were cool in a campy kid type of way. I remember the two coolest things in the whole series were the "Taurus the Great Space Gladiator" story arc, and when Darius, 0:29 is revealed to be the same height as the Gaiking robot, where there was no previous indication in the series he was that big. They fight toe-to-toe in the last episode of the series.

the greatest theme song ever, i remember going to the video store with my parents every friday and rentin these force five videos.

Holy Crap! I went there when I was 6 years old! I would have loved to go there everyday but we didn't live in Mass. we lived in NH and only went there because My dad had to go to Boston for something and we stopped there on the way home.

At my school there were two camps: the kids who preferred Starvengers and Grandizer, and the kids who preferred Gaiking and Spaceketeers. I was in the latter camp, I think because they were more ship-based, and reminded me more of Star Blazers (my real favorite).
Oh, and of course nobody liked Danguard Ace. I've often wondered if I'd appreciate that show more now with an adult attention span, or if it really was just not as good.
