What does the Bible really say about hell. Please Christians, try to understand with an open mind and heart. For some atheists, maybe this will change how you feel about God....

  • lie

  • @6996109 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw (drag in Greek) all mankind to Myself." John 12:32. Some call that a lie, some have been given faith to believe in God's greatest promises. Obviously, you haven't.

  • all religions have one thing in common , they all pray to an invisible and inaudible god and yet claim to know his mind , what he thinks and what he feels and what punishment he likes to dish out..as for a creator of the universe , of course its possible , but a biblical god , a genocidal , racist who makes women feel pain during child birth , kills countless men women and babies with a flood , please , grow up..the bible is an insult to any creator if one even exists.

  • @grumpyguts1967 Well, I can sure see why you have "grumpyguts," I had them too when I was an atheist, but them my creator and yours, decided to open my eyes and heart and also threw in some understanding of the Bible that made sense. I hope some day real soon, you get healed of gutrot so that "out of your belly will flow rivers of living waters." Oh, I know that doesn't make any sense to you right now, but one day it will. Til then, peace....

  • @PropheticVindicator Sorry, my friend, but I've already been redeemed by the Savior of the world, you can't scare me with those devilish threats preachers use to keep people in bondage to them anymore. I'm free from condemnation, so you'll have to find some other sucker to scare, false propheticvindicator. The only thing you do is spread fear. Perfect love casts out fear, especially your kind of religious based fear.

  • interesting. a christian who is able to study the bible for himsefl without the radical embellishment of later theologies orally introduced. all the fire and brimstone plagues the teachings of jesus. he was a figure against authority of this world and establishment that holds power over others and keeps them destitute and poor. after bridging the gap why would he then take an ax to one side? good luck getting mainstream christians to see this for themselves.

  • "Love me..or go to hell"..is not the gospel.

  • @grumpyguts1967 just food for thought.

  • @grumpyguts1967 i think that's the point of the bible though. that our behavior is not good enough for the hebrew god. he has stern punishment for it. i think most people don't feel that theft, adultery, murder, lying, cheating, etc.., are crimes worthy of death. however, if you think of god has an actual entity, non-personal, that watches what he has made with scrutiny, and is perfecting it, it makes more sense. it's like a gardener pruning a plant. does the leaf really deserve to die?

  • @ghostdancer1984 you could put it that way , or i could go a little further , a god of the bible , an abrahamic god , a christian god , or any god for that matter , is not worthy of human praise or worship , religious folk talk about humans not matching gods standards , well , i say he doesnt match mine , i dont condone genocide , human sacrifice , slavery , the list goes on .

  • @grumpyguts1967 i think i know where you're coming from. you don't feel that the behaviors of those people in the bible warranted the punishment they received. am i right?
