Sump Well after Storm

My sump well after the big rainy storms of June 7-8, 2008 around Milwaukee. This is pretty normal when I get 4-5 inches of rain in a short period of time. (The loud banging in the video is my dryer. I must've had a small animal in it or something.)

@justincasekazoo It's coming in from the water table around the house. We had a ton of rain that week.

You should get a generator, there are dirt cheap for a 2KW (2-Stroke)

Well, I want something that can go on automatically without manual intervention. It's more of a worry for when I'm not there.

Holy crap, you've got a lot of water pouring in there from the weeping tiles. I thought mine was bad! You really should look at getting a submersible 1/2 hp pump. They are much quieter, run cooler, and move more water.

Yeah, thinking about getting new ones. I also *need* to get a battery backup in there. Figuring out my options now.

I would switch that out for a submersible. Bought a Simer 1/2 HP today from Menards (sale $119)....it is amazing how much water this one pushes out. You have too much water coming in to take a chance.

if you find one with a electric start, you can wire up a circuit board to do that

I've moved on from Pedestal Sump pumps. Every time the power goes, it floods to a ridiculous level and gets in the wiring, frying it. I have 2 submersible 1/3 Hp pumps now. so much easier to install to.

I've got the same deal in our well-pit, it just gushes in there like that when the ground gets saturated and we have a ton of rain. I've got a 1/3HP pedestal sump pump, and it sometimes has trouble keeping up. I wonder if I should upgrade to a 1/2HP?
