Wow how this brings back memories of my childhood. On Saturday evening we would all gather around the tv and watch the Hee Haw show.

Ray was my neighbor 35 years ago in Nashville, Tn. I just heard of his passing eariler this year. I used to really enjoy visiting with Ray. I remember he had a red 442 he loved alot. He was looking for work for about a year before he landed a job with Loretta Lynn. I remember his wife was so beautiful. They were such nice people to know and truly the country boy next door. It was a pleasure to know them back then. I always remembered Ray and I am sad for his family today.

The Branson entertainment community mourns the passing of Ray Burdette Wednesday at his home in Branson.
Burdette was one of the original cast members of the TV show “Hee Haw.” Known as “Ricochet Ray,” Burdette sang bass with Roy Clark and Grandpa Jones, and told jokes in the cornfield with Lulu. He also sang with “The Statesmen” and toured with Loretta Lynn.
Ray Burdette came to Branson in the early 1990s, working with Wayne Newton at his theater. Burdette died of complications from cance

My Friend the Bass Singer Ray Burdette went home today 7-20-2011 and Gods choir has gained a great bass singer. I will miss you old friend.
