I set up a timelapse to record out my window facing North towards downtown Nashville at about noon when I heard severe weather was imminent. Tornados were reported in the area and I was hoping to catch a glimpse of something. Watch the trees centered in the shot disappear! The footage begins roughly at about 1:30pm and ends at 3:30pm.

Looking back I should've increased the interval from 45" so it would be more fluid.

  • This is amazing! How did you set up a time laps on your canon 7D, same camera I use, good choice ;)

  • @Je33ic6t It's helpful to buy an intervalometer, which you can find pretty cheap on amazon. Just set up an interval that you want your time-lapse to be and put your camera in one of the manual modes and pray to God it looks great and you made good decisions with your aperture and shutter speed! With me most of them are hit and miss.

  • I live in Tennessee

    That Crap was Scary

    and

I was in the 4th Grade

Everyone thought we were gonna DIE!!!!!!!

  • Wow that is incredible! For a second I thought it was going to be a fake vid and I was waiting for something to come up onto the screen and scream at me

  • I caught a tornado (South Nashville, near I24) as it came through my backyard. Used my iPhone so video isn't greatest, but the sound (like a jet coming in for a landing) was eerie. Can also hear (&see) branches snapping & tree falling. Posted it under Nashville tornado 4/4/11. Also have a vid up of the siren going off less than a minute before, can see it in background.

  • Freaky! In a way the fact it skips over sections makes it even more powerful-- one second the trees are there and the next second they're not.
