One of the most cheerful etudes by Chopin. Arrau isn't of my fave.'s for Chopin Etudes, but the piece is so shiny, you know :)

@cfwpiano for example Robert Casadesus also was a great pianist and Cziffra for example but Horowitz gave us a little more like Maria Callas did..... Its not to describe but you are fascinated by the personality and the expressivo of these persons. I went to 2 recitals of Horowitz and don t regret to have paid a lot of money for the trip to London. And again later in Paris, although on the technical point of view Horowitz was no more able to give his best. Arrau too had bad moments.

thanks for posting this etudes with Arrau who was a wonderful musician with a singing tone and who song the melodies with a beautiful phrasing.....
His Beethoven recital in Vienna was breathtaking, an important memory in my souvenirs

This is great. Arrau is such a great pianist. Horowitz does playing this etude wonderfully. I believe the latter plays this etude the best.

Yeah, I don't get the Horowitz admiration either... great pianist... but so was Arrau! And many others! The way people focus on one person obsessively is scary...

Not even close to Horowitz. Compared to the master, Arrau is just playing notes.
