Breath of Fire III MDLLG Berserker

Optional fight with the Berserker, normal enemy over at the Container Yard. The fight is actually one of the hardest the game features as a normal hit from Berserker can kill anyone instantly, even if protected.
The Berserker starts the fight under confuse status, killing one of my guys, as he will any other turn he decides to use a normal attack. To prevent a loss, every turn two of my guys use Ammonia. "Good" turns are those Berserker decides to use Fire Whip, kills Garr or simply misses, worst turns are Ryu or Rei dead. If Ryu dies, this means he has to redo Last Resort, because without it his damage is very low. If Rei dies, he will be dead on begin of next turn so both Garr and Ryu go Ammonia, preventing some further damage.

Now, we need to do something about Berserk. Berserker is immune to "death after three turns" that skill features, so once he uses it he will use normal attacks only, and as those barely miss doing the last 3000 damage is very hard. However, we just have to know about his AP to make this last part the easiest. Fire Whip takes 15 AP of his 500 AP total, so we need to restore 10 of his AP sometime during the fight. If we do so, he will end up at 0 AP after 34 Fire Whips and Berserk needs 2 AP to be cast. Berserkers AI is really bad, after he is below 3000 HP he will be casting Berserk every turn, not having enough AP to do so all the time. Normally this would be disastrous as he would actually get berserk and attack, but without AP, simply kill off the Monopolizer (for me, Garr) and autobattle until he is done for.

Low lvl fight, yes. But what about the equips?

Sounds like cheat for GKS and stuff or really a hard time farming Stat Boosters.

Or should i believe that u dropped GSK and stuff at this same exactly level? XD

It has been a while I played this one, but I think Ryu just had a Royal Sword on him. The trick is Last Resort, which converts all DEF to ATK, and DEF is super high with all that equip from Fairy Village trips and end game stuff.

Obviously, GKS would be possible from numbers game of Faery Village as well - but winning that one sucks. On the other hand, getting things through Trips and then copying those is handsome.

Oh, and Ebonfire can be learned from Magic Shuffle those wizards use in the Colony. Nothing shabby about that one, either, just you don't seem to know the game :) No stat boosters were used either!

Perhaps you showed it in another video, but how did you obtain Ebonfire if you're doing a low level game?

It is randomly cast by the mages in Colony when they use their magic shuffle. It may take several hours for them to use it, but it is possible to learn it there regardless.

I understand the low level challenge but what's the MD stand for?

MD Stands for Monopolize + Death, meaning the lowest possible levels for everyone, which is also the reason no one gains EXP at the end of this battle. Also, Ryu is actually level 17, Garr 13 and Rei 19.

And yes, that piece was from BoF4.

just curious... i'm at LV 55 with Ryu and around 43 to 49 with everyone else, but it's still too hard for me to beat the Berserker. It's amazing watching u fight that enemy, it's a tough one. Well, imma level up a bit more so yeah, hope i can beat him soon xD

HAHAHA, Final Fantasy Music in the middle of the video. Sounds like Cid's Highwind theme or something of the like. Possibly a battle theme from FF7.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the limitations of the low level challenge game. Nice work anyway, it took awhile but you conquered this berserker!
