  • Hi darren I just got this phone and I was wondering, how can i get phone service without being on 3g? when i'm on 3g it will randomly use up my data. I want to choose when i use 3g and still be able to call and text. Can you help me with this?

  • @Danno469 If you look under the settings and networks you should be able to turn off always on mobile data. I think it will be under mobile networks within wireless and networks. You can also download a widget that will turn off data connection. Just look in the market for SMODA or search for something like data widget.

  • hmmmm motorola dext or LG optimus silver?

  • did you load the browser? itd be good if you loaded facebook and see if it loaded the facebook apps (farmville, treasure isle, bejewled etc)

  • Dude, good review. Im due for a upgrade in about a month and i reckon im gnna go for this one. Could you upload a video showing the browser thoo? Thanks.

  • Nice one. Hope you enjoy. Need any help just ask ;)

  • Ok thanks alot. That's basically all I needed to know, definatley getting DEXT now.

  • I just had a look and if you go for the Dolphin package you get free internet and free texts (depending how much you top up) so that's always an option. Plus the phone does have WiFi so you can always use that to update etc.

  • Ok thanks. I'll go for Dext, was my first choice anyway. I also wana go on Pay & go. So i dont need some sort of data plan to activate it. Cause i see it on sale on the orange website on pay as you go, so i just presumed that it won't need data plan to activate like the G1.

  • Hi. You can turn off the data on both phones quite easily in the settings. As for which phone to get it depends. If you are into social networking then the Dext is made for that but the G1 is easier to mod (load custom ROM's) but is a bit dated now. Overall the Dext is a nicer looking phone but just a bit behind in updates (it's 1.5 whereas a lot of Android phones are 1.6 and most new ones come with 2.0) Better camera on Dext so that's always a plus. Good luck making a choice ;)
