Elegy

A poem I wrote In my English class my Senior Year for a poetry project. ok there is a random twilight picture in here not on purpose, I couldnt find anything else for that particular line in the poem.

POEM
I light a candle hoping you'd be home
As hours pass I find myself alone
I lay in bed just thinking of you
while wondering what that person has put you through
The days are warm but nights are cold
I need you here for someone to hold
Your beautiful smile stuck in my head
I cry myself to sleep alone in my bed
My heart is empty, my eyes are numb
I can't stop crying when I think of what you've become, Heaven needed an angel to free a broken soul
He set you free and gave you wings
Fly high in the sky for you are now free
Free from pain and free from harm
your presence never leaves me
In my heart you will always be.
