I finally put together a video of my 2000 S10 with a LT1 engine and six speed T56 transmission. The truck was bought brand new just for the build, has never seen inclimate weather and now has only 19,000 miles on the body. The engine and transmission had only 16,000 miles at the time of the build and was freshened up bofore being transplanted. The donor car was a 1995 Trans Am. The engine has a stock bottom end with the heads reworked by Loyd Elliott to his LE2 level. GM hot cam kit, ported intake with a holley 52 mm throttle body and stock injectors. Computer tuned by PCM For Less. GM 8.5" rear end narrowed to fit. 3:73 Richmond gears, Moser axles and a GM limited slip differential. Rear frame section is also narrowed to allow for the 12" wide wheels. Wheels are Bonspeed Sweep's, 18x8 front and 18x12 rear. The video is amatuer at best. Only my second time using the camcorder. Also the truck is filthy having sit all winter. I just wanted to get a video of it with it's current engine because I am about to replace it with a new LT1 383 stroker and will post a new video once it is installed for comparison. It will be a much better quality video I promise and it will also be completely cleaned and detailed as I prepare to hit the local car shows and cruise ins again this summer. I have owned the truck for going on two years now purchasing it from the original owner and builder. I am very proud to own it. It is as clean and as professional of a build as I have ever seen. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Please feel free to post any comments that you may have.

  • Very nice I have the same wheels in a 20/22 on my 99 dime with air ride also with the same hood as well. in the process of a ls1 swap.

  • @10droped Where is your truck located? I'm in Indianapolis.

  • Stupid question but why does the speedo jump to 10mph after you rev the motor?

  • @SweetLou0523 I'm not sure. My guess is that something like the ignition system at high RPM's is generating rfi that is getting into the speedo circitry somehow.

  • I have a 2000 S10 I'm doing a conversion on. How difficult was the job? I was told to use a 1996-2000 Vortech 350.

  • I live in IL real close to STL mo, I'm just across the river. If you goto the s10forum in the wheels and tires section and search my name "10droped" I have pics of my truck even a vid of me rolling.

  • @thsholt The engine is now on Craigs list in Indianapolis if you are still interested.

  • @lt1s10snowman hey man i saw your video and love the truck. i also have a 200 s10 and i really want to swap a v8. i saw the price you want and i could do that in time but im still savin. i would like to keep in touch with you as long as you have the motor becasue im interested. thanks!

  • By the way the 350 LT1 in this video is for sale if anyone is interested. It only has 35K miles on it, 16 in it's stock form and 19K with the heads cam and throttle body. Guestimated 375-400HP. Complete turnkey engine from the Holley throttle body to the oil pan, manual flywheel to the harmonic balancer including a power pulley and all engine sensors. Only thing missing is the wiring harness, vacume lines and front accessories, (ac, ps & alt.) It is a 1995 model. $2,500 FIRM.

  • @codysk8ter95

With that particular engine, (350 LT1, Loyd Elliot LE2 heads, GM hot cam, stock injectors, and 52 mm throttlebody) it was getting between 13 & 22 MPG city and highway respectably.

Now with the current engine, check out my videos of it, (383 LT1, much larger cam, same size heads, 30lb. injectors, 58 MM throttle body, 510 HP) it is getting between 9 and 18 MPG.

  • mpg guess?
