The next day Nick called me to come over. I sighed and out on some skinny jeans and a baggy red and black coca cola tee shirt. After searching for my converse and putting on a teeny but of makeup I walked across the street. I didn't even bother to knock when I reached their doorstep, I just let myself in. "Hey Ashlyn, Nick's upstairs." Kevin said. I smiled and walked up to the third story which they had converted into a media room. I flopped beside Nick who was sitting on the couch. "Heyyy." I said. "Hellllooo.." Nick replied smiling. "I should call Emily over...Too many boys..." I mummbled. "Yeaa!!! Call her!!" Kevin said. I laughed quietly. Kevin had always had a MAJOR crush on my 18 year old pal. I texted her to get her butt over here...
"No Guys!! Let's do something else." I begged as my our friends went for guitar hero. "C'mon Ash, pleasee.." Nick begged. "Fine, I'll watch." I said. And I did cheering for Emily the whole time. "Gee thanks Ashlyn." Nick said after two and a half hours of guitar hero. "Hey she won didn't she?" I asked. On cue Kevin shook his head, "I've been beaten by a girl." Emily laughed. "It's okay I can't play a real one for anything." They all went down stairs in search of food...leaving us alone. I'd ALWAYS had a crush on Nick...Seriously since the first time I'd seen him I'd ALWAYS liked him...9 straight years of pretending to be JUST FRIENDS. "Come on Ash, I'll show you." Nick said. Before I could protest he had pulled me off the couch. He put the guitar around me and got behind me placing each of my hands in his. We put our left hands on the neck and our rights on the strummer. I tried my best to breathe steady as he moved my arm showing me how to play, but every time he moved I felt his muscles flex. I felt like a ball of wax under a hot lamp, trying my best not to melt right there in his arms. It went on like that for a few songs and I finally turned around to thank him but his face was a only inches from mine, and I could feel his warm breath on my face, sending pleasant chills down my spine... Somehow my hands were on his waist and his on mine. He leaned in to kiss me and my mind went spinning. They guy I'd loved was about to kiss me...
