This is the same lyric I posed as The Ballad of Sam Bede, but in a blues vein.
They call me Cajun Pete, but I'm probably more New Orleans than Cajun in my deepest sentiments. There are plenty of Cajuns in New Orleans, but my French is too feeble to handle Cajun music as a singer. I could never really get fiddle playing. I'm jealous of real Cajun and Zydeco musicians and their talent in French and Creole, and their musicianship. Hope to hear from anyone who's in the Boston area and wants someone to sing with. • Sam Bede is fictitious, but the story is kind of parallel to something in my immediate family back in WWII (1945)
