Our "once in a lifetime" horse. Jamie has beat the odds of being given a 10% of survival and is doing well.

6 stitches, 6 simple little stitches that ended her career and threatened her life. She got a cut on her left front cannon bone which was her first injury ever. Because she is so tall and massive we put foam o...n her feet but unbeknownst to us all of our precautions were not going to make much of a difference.

Once lameness started, Jamie was examined and treated by many leading vets and farriers to no avail. No signs of founder... we joke that Jamie is the most xrayed horse in the US. Thankfully Jamie's "dream team" of Dr. Stacey Bluhm and farrier Tom Rosen had finally exhausted all treatments when Stacey suggested a venogram.

It was awful...1 vein supplying half of her hoof, the rest a black hole. We cut Jamie's tendon to increase blood flow and then all he77 broke loose..Jamie again, made a mockery out of what was "supposed" to happen. She rotated and sunk, penetrating her hoof with those fragile bones. Maggot therapy, teaching her to lay down and stay down, Isoxsuprine, Ace, you name it, we did it.

3 years later Jamie has 2 embryos on the way, gets turned out 1/2 day in the mornings and though not sound by any means she feels good enough to put a dent in the ceiling of her stall, rearing, jumping and giving us fits. She would not be alive today without her heart (through all of this, she always thought she was ready to go show~still does), a devoted staff and INCREDIBLE vet support and farrier work by Tom Rosen and Dr. Stacey Bluhm.

Still growing at 4 yrs old Jamie just added 1 1/2 inches and is now 16.3 even on a minimal diet. She still resides in the show barn on 4' of paper shavings.

Jamie is HYPP N/N, sister to The Greatest Secret. She has 2 embryos coming this year by Phenomenal Play and Yella Rockafella. Both foals will be N/N and hopefully colored fillies!
