This is the "Wind and Cloud?" singing competition in mainland China in which Xiao Chong, a famous Taiwanese music producer who has worked with Emil Chau implied leehom copies music. The guy auditioning said he noticed that the melody of Leehom's "Da Cheng Xiao Ai" (Big City, Small Love) was very similar to Emil Chau song "Rang Wo Huan Xi Rang Wo You." Xiao Chong said that's like a lot of 'his' songs, and he wasn't talking about Emil.

I got this video from Tudou where already a whole new wave of people are leaving comments about how out of line Xiao Chong was, so I think he's paid

I feel bad for the auditioner. He seemed simple-minded but earnest and nervous, and left after being criticized by that woman at the end, but he will forever be linked to this.

风云新人的海选上,一选手将《大城小爱》和《让我欢喜让我忧》编唱到了一起,说两首歌有点象,小虫不但没否认,反而说写《大》的人就是喜欢抄

  • Both songs have the 3 3 7 rhythm that is very common in the older chinese pop songs. I believe Leehom mentioned this before when he talked about the simpler melody for da cheng xiao ai.

Xiao Chong was really impolite and unprofessional here. And what a two-face. He's like this behind Leehom's back and completely different when he's in front of Leehom himself.

  • Xiao Chong is just jealous that leehom is a better song writer than him. Otherwise he doesn't have so much to say.

  • chinese music is mostly sad love songs.... that makes the whole society seem angry n pist all the time... here in america we love party music, music that will give us a good time. chinese sadness songs make u feel like shit WTF and ppl enjoy that. ignorant... fuck leehom, fuck lil worm, fuck jay chou

  • Leehom's one of my biggest role models but I won't cover that the melody is very much alike. However, there are many songs out there that sound very similar because of chord progression, or whatever other factor it may be. In respect to the stylistic values of that album, they're very old school which is great because it brings tribute hence there being more similarity. Xiao Chong has no right because you could say Jacky Cheung's Wen Bie is a 'copy' because of the similar rising progression.

  • 小虫?

    臭屁虫一个,他妈的。

  • Such horrid people... 完全沒有任何理由理你!

  • chord is same for these 2 songs, but melody is totally different...

if emil chau created Bb,Eb,Ab and etc., which mean.. other singers cannot use these chords. Bullshit. Brainless judge!

The judge seems like know nothing in music at all...

  • bullshit. those two songs dont even sound similar

the judge is a coward first of all. the whole time he wouldnt even say leehom's name, he just said "HE who wrote the song is a copycat" seriously, if he really thought that, why didnt he just admittingly say leehom's name? coward. second, hes just jealous, look at where he is compared to leehom, and leehom didnt get there just for his looks.

  • @shawn78 emil chau's song credits ryo aska as the writer of the melody/tune

  • But there's Wang Leehom first, THEN Jay Chou :)
