Keep praying:It's WORKING! Great news: human spraying halted in Santa Cruz by a judge this week. We need to keep praying until no more threat of human spraying in the Bay Area or anywhere else in this country....

Good people of the United States of America. This LBAM spraying has gone way beyond the talking stage..Now watch me get arrested for speaking my mind. Which is no longer allowed due to the Patriot Act.
-
We are going to be sprayed weather we like it or not. What recourse do we have left to stop this?????Short of being classified as a Domestic Terrorist by people who can no longer think for them self.
-
The people in Santa Cruz and Monterey were not told when the spraying would take place so they couldn't even take cover. At least one of the applications was done over Santa Cruz in the early evening a beautiful day. There were many people out walking around who got directly exposed to the spray.

Thanks for keeping in touch Eyes,
I'm very interested in hearing all sides of the issue...boy, it's a powder keg. As an aerial applicator (helicopters) I am very careful when it comes to buffer zones and being mindful of the public and their safety.
I'll keep an eye out for your postings.
How come nobody ever speaks about the farmers...American farmers.. who are having their crops destroyed by LBAM? Are they to just roll over and die? Most people out there think their food comes from the supermarket...American environmental obstructionists are puting the American farmers out of business. But not to worry folks...you can always buy your organic fruit from honest 3rd world nations like Mexico...ya right.

Sir, the CDFA themselves openly admit that there has not been one single case of crop damage in California caused by the Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM). Ask them. There simply are no destroyed crops nor has there even been any minor damage. In fact, a huge amount of farmers that have researched the topic are actually on our side of this issue. Farmers & nursery owners are actually being way more impacted by the CDFA's unwarranted restrictions than they are by the moth itself. Please get informed.

Your presentation is typical...in the style of the "drive-by" media...lots of slick edits
to fit your agenda. Now listen, I do appreciate your concerns for your community, we all want our communities to be safe. I just don't understand why everyone immediately vilifies the use of pesticides to control harmful pests.Pesticides can be used safely and judiciously to control a pest and the danger to CA farmers is very real.

Direct from CDPR website:LBAM-an exotic pest species. It does not naturally occur here and has no natural enemies to reduce populations. It attacks native and ornamental plantings and fruits and vegetables, and can severely damage residential landscapes, orchards and agricultural crops. It has a broad range of host plants. Over 250 types of plants are at risk of attack by this moth. This includes varieties of apple,Pear, citrus, avocado, oak, walnut, pine, roses, strawberry, grapes and ornamentals.

Again, I ask of you to call up the CDFA and ask them directly if there has been a single case of crop damage in California from the LBAM. They have repeatedly stated in public that there has not been. They can "predict" all they want, but that doesn't change facts of reality. There actually are in fact natural predators here that keep the LBAM in check, which is why we have not seen any crop damage in the many years that the moth has been here. Their campaign is based on fear and not on science.

This moth is native in New Zealand. Farmers and AG officials in New Zealand (except the one or two being paid by the USDA) openly state that LBMA is not a big concern to them. They only have to focus on it when they export goods to the USA. The CDFA is using old NZ data from many years ago when NZ was spraying organophosphates, which ended up killing LBAM predators as well. Since they've stopped spraying that, the moth is no longer a signifigant pest. Why doesn't the CDFA use NZ's current data?

Yep, I agree... certain pesticides have a time and place. But no matter what the pesticide is, it is absolutely never appropriate to spray chemicals directly onto people, which is what is happening here. Are you even aware of that? Entire urban human populations are being blanketed with this stuff. I am not against farmers spraying their own fields if they wish to do so. That is their crops and their choice. But no one has the right to directly spray other human beings. And most farmers agree.
