@FT86TT Rods for squids are basically light spinning rods. Usually 7-8 ft length with around 25-50g c/w. Japan's EGI is good for the application but not cheap. Rods for squiding are usually high in graphite making them very subtle and sensitive. You can try squid jigging with just a light spin uglystick one piece spinning rod. There are many info online if you need something more specific or local.
Now those are some impressive squid! Never seen smaller guys take drag like that (Humbolts excluded) Most of the fishing we do here in New England are for Loligo Peliea...smaller in size but very tender when fried up! Great video & thanks for posting!
