Reuters reported that the Eritrean government had issued an acute warning to its citizens to stay well away from the volcanic ashes. It is reported that thousands of Eritreans believed the ash was TEFF flour sent from GOD. Teff is an indigenous grain to Ethiopia often used to make the staple Enjera. Assistant Secretary of State, Johnnie Carson, accused the Eritrean regime of failing to provide data on the humanitarian needs of its own people. He said, "Many of these most recent REFUGEES are suffering from LIFE -THREATENING MALNUTRITION.

It is reported that around 3 million of Eritrea's 4 million population is starving, some have already crossed to Ethiopia while others are quietly perishing
