This is my guide to the Spanish island of Lanzarote in the Canary Island.
If lazing on the beach everyday does not appeal to you, and you prefer to see more of the island, then i will show you some places worth visiting. I have uploaded photos and maps indicating showing were each place is situated on the island. All the places I visited are easily accessible by public transport (bus)
Timanfaya National park is the most famous tourist attraction on the island and many tour companies will offer 1/2 day and full day tours to the park and other attractions on the island including El Golfo (the green lake) and Jameos del Agua (formed by an ancient lava tube)
The resorts are Puerto del Carmen (were you will find beautiful beaches of golden sand), Playa Blanca and the Costa Teguise.
Inland and heading towards Timanfaya is Uga and Yaiza - two small towns with whitewashed buildings. Both are accessible by public transport.
The capital is Arrecife.
