I first saw Michael Hedges back in the 80's, on the St. Paul campus of the U of Minnesota. He played at the student center...he was a relative unknown then(tickets were just 6 bucks!). I had a date that night.....told her we were going to see a solo guitarist. I think she expected something more "upscale"...Michael came onstage with waistlength hair, bouncing on a 3-foot inflatable ball, wailing on his guitar! An amazing concert!, although it was NOT what my date expected! :)

So far, there appear to be 12 people with no sense of music what-so-ever. I had the privilege of seeing Michael live, and as a guitarist myself, I can say he had a matchless talent. Without Michael, I wonder if we'd even have a Don Ross or a Andy McKee?
