  • Hey man can you please List all the posible signs a female guppy is due to give birth within a couple of days?

  • @ShockMycrums You don't want to put her in the breeder tank too soon...it will stress her out. I watched my mama guppy through a few pregnancies to figure out when she was going to start giving birth. Right before she gave birth the back, lower part of her belly looked like a hard corner angle instead of a rounded belly shape. She may start acting strangely like not eating or staying away from the other fish. You may have to wait until she starts giving birth before you will know. God Bless!

  • Did u know guppies have 50-100 babies in a day but u can never save them all! poor things they just get eaten :( oh btw loved the video :)

  • @lindsaybindsay1 Unfortunately, there is no emotional attachment between the mama fish and baby fish. My mama fish didn't eat her babies, but generally in the world of fish, big things eat little things. We can all thank our mothers that they are not fish. :-)

Thank you for the kind words. God Bless!

  • i thought fish layed eggs?

  • @Gavinprior1 Guppies are live-bearers which means the babies hatch from eggs inside the mama guppy before they are born. The mama guppy will get a big, black spot on the back of their belly when she is pregnant. It takes 28 days for the babies to be born from the time she gets pregnant. God Bless!

  • @superdataman Guppy grass will help if you have a fish that tends to eat her young. The newborns tend to sink to the bottom so cover the bottom third of the birthing tank with the grass, (there are several types, I found the ones that look like bottle brushes work well, use two of them) and remove the mother as soon as she's done.

  • are they dead

  • @TheMidnadarkness Hey, I had one like that too! He had scoliosis, but lived for a long time afterwards too.

  • @lindsaybindsay1 Yup. I used to have guppies, and I tried putting her in a new tank every time they started coming out, but I still could never keep her from eating them all . . . :( Then a lot of them died just in the growing-up process. Nature is cruel . . .
