@mari66101 Yea Ronald ran his mouth and said a lot of bs. As for the issue of rehab well the addict him/her self must want it for it to work. Ronald was over 18 years old so the only way they could have gotten him to get help was as a condition of living under their roof.I too couldn't live their also. Not because of any "spooky evil voices" blah , blah , blah but because the absolute sad depression atmosphere that must hang over the place.

It was one of those many confessions that Ronnie made, it was on a documentary some years back. Very true about Ronnie's drug problem,if only they would have been able to put him in rehab. Such a creepy,unhappy house....I couldnt live there.

@mari66101 Hey don't recall hearing that story. I believe it all boils down to the fact that Ronald Defeo had a heroin addiction and a angry personality to begin with and mixed together brought about the horrific events that unfolded.

This story, as well as the house, has always fascinated me. The fact that all were laying on their stomachs when they were shot... how no one heard the shots (a high powered rifle is very loud) Almost as though the house was a co-conspirator in the murders, and didn't WANT the shots to be heard. I realize how fucking stupid that sounds, but I'm just in one of those moods today. lol

Another story I heard years ago, was that Ronnie had planned to have a hitman kill his father only. I think it was a botched attempt to kill both his parents and collect the life insurance money. instead his younger brothers and sister were murdered also. Maybe is older sister was involved,since she is dead and Ronnie has changed his story so many times, its hard to say that the truth will ever be known.
