Originally released in August of 1931, it was played as a dance tune. When I learned it in the early 1950's, my music teacher treated it just like another accordion novelty, played with speed, and I wasn't aware of it's history. I still play it too fast for the original interpretation, but I HAVE slowed it down quite a bit as a compromise. Great old tune!

  • I do hope you have enjoyed your stay in Kamloops, B.C., playing your accordion, like it should be played.

Hope you had time to enjoy our Canadian Rocky's while there.

  • Had an absolutely FANTASTIC time!!! Wish I could have stayed longer - and the people are so friendly and helpful. Just delightful. Wish I could thank each and every one of them individually.

  • Hey Sylvia, I just found out that you will be at my accordion club here in AZ in October. I am so excited to see and meet you. I love your videos!

  • I'm excited too, Mark. You belong to a great group there in the Phoenix area. Be sure to attend the workshop since I'll be showing attendees the double fingering trick I use on this tune along with a lot of other techniques and fun stuff.

  • Thanks for the wonderful playing. You seem to enjoy it so much yourself that it is infectious. It sets the feet tapping and and lightens the heart. What more can we ask for!

    Greetings from Ireland.

    Terry.

  • Terry - sorry it took so long to get back to you. Thanks for your kind remarks.
