Tristan Titeux, owner of Custom Carpentry in London UK designed an eco fitted furniture project entitled "Marco", suitable for people who want materials that are kinder to the invironment and their health.

On the left we have floating shelves sitting in an alcove made with special shelves that don't use so much material as solid 50mm mdf shelves because inside they use cardboard in a honeycomb shape and air, so that makes it much more economical on precious resources and means there is less glue inside the shelf and so less fumes to escape. To ensure nothing escapes we seal it in with flexible filler and a special Eco primer then we finish off with an eco paint that is VOC free and doesn't smell, so it is perfect for a child's bedroom.

In the right hand side alcove I designed a clean and simple, modern wardrobe with flexible shelving so you can adapt it to suit and therefore making it more useful throughout it's life. Also the unit is easily dismantleable as the screws are not filled in with filler and no glue has been used, so instead of ripping it all our you can take it apart and rebuild it or cut the planks up to make something else, that makes the unit alot more sustainable because it takes into consideration the extended life cycle of the wardrobe.

The wardrobe is also made of Formaldehyde free mdf so it doesn't need priming with special passivating primer and can just be painted with Eco paint straight away. The handles are stainless steel which is totally recyclable and is made of rat least 60% recycled material as it is.

Thank you for your time.

My mission is to show you that what you buy has a direct relationship with creating the positive world you would like for you and your children.

I aim to bring awareness of different materials for use in fitted furniture and inside your houses by demonstrating that it is possible to use materials that don't damage the planet or you.

Enjoy your day.
