...Something More... Chapter 42

Joe's POV...................................

These has been the best couple of weeks ever. Between work and not having much time off I tried to make as much time for us as possible. She's been coming over to my apartment. I've been trying to kick Nick out every chance I get, which he's not to upset about. I called her over tonight so we can have dinner but I didn't want this to be just some ordinary moment for us. I know were just at my apartment but I want it to still to mean something. I set up this whole picnic type thing with dinner. I set up the fire place. I never get to use it so this gave me an excuse. She knocked on my door and everything was set up. She walked in and stopped in front of me, I closed the door and put my hand on the small of her back and lead her closer to the fire place.
Savannah: did you do this
Joe: yeah why
Savannah: you did this for me
Joe: why are you surprised
Savannah: I don't know
She took her seat by all the food and I sat across from her and we ate. I felt like I knew her forever and I was so comfortable around her. After we were done eating I pushed the dishes away from us and I scooted closer to her and put my arm around her and we sat staring at the fire and we cuddled. We talked some more but eventually I couldn't stare at the dishes anymore. I got up and started to grab them she insisted on taking them so I told her she could help if she wanted to. One of the knives must have sliced her finger when she was holding the plate and she screeched and dropped the plate. It broke. She kind of got weird and not because she cut herself but because the plate broke.
Savannah: Oh my god i'm so sorry, let me clean this up oh god
Joe: wait stop.......you cut yourself
Savannah: no I have to clean this up
Joe: *grabs both hands lightly* leave it ...I'll get it...your more important right now
I took her into the bathroom and bandaged her cut and I lifted her hand to my face and lightly kissed it. She just looked at me in awe like she's never had anyone tend to her before.
Joe: why are you looking at me like that
Savannah: um no reason
Joe: does it hurt
Savannah: no but aren't you mad at me for breaking your dish
Joe: god no......I told you I was worried about you more
I pulled her closer to me and lifted her chin up to me and my lips touched hers. The more that I kiss her, the more that I can feel us getting closer. She's such an amazing person but there's still something about her I just can't put my finger on.

I agree with my girl madison50364 I think she was in an abusive relationship and she still reflects on it. Hopefully Joe can get her through whatever has been going in her life that makes her act like that.

Joe's such a sweetheart. She's probably not used to a boyfriend treating her so awesome. I bet she did have an abusive boyfriend. Poor girl. But she should trust in Joe. :D
