*PRESENTED IN GST WIDESCREEN*

Taped on March 17th, 1978, the first of two pilots is taped for Card Sharks, the game of decisions and judging of human nature, where you can win a fortune on the turn of a single card. The designated champion is pilot man himself, Jack Campion, with $4,000 (assumingly). He faces off against Pam in this pilot. The only difference from the pilot and the show is that the tiebreaker used 4 cards instead of the 3 it used when the show was launched. Jim Perry hosts, Johnny Olson announces

  • It was spelled Johnny 'Olson'.

  • @tvtimetravel Oh, did I spell it wrong? Thanks for the correction, it's hard to spell it the right way sometimes

  • @32rodrick No, Jim Perry's version was taped at NBC Studios in Burbank. Bob Eubanks and Bill Rafferty's version was taped at CBS Television City in Hollywood.

  • Michael, I seriously give you my biggest thanks for uploading this. May I please just ask where on Earth you found it?

  • Since the middle of last month, I don't think I'll ever watch television the same way again, because I'm in a college broadcasting program, and things such as camera angles and lighting have me studying shows more closely now.

  • From Television City in Hollywood...

  • One of the possible reasons they changed the tiebreaker from 4 cards to 3: It's theoretically possible for someone to run out of cards with 4 cards in the tiebreaker...

  • @masonben2011 I do plan to. But when this was originally up, someone told me they can only access this through cellphone. So, I will still upload fullscreen in addition to widescreen for the benefit of those who can't have widescreen

  • NBC picked this show up pretty darn fast as it was on the schedule just about five weeks later. I guess To Say the Least or Knockout was really not getting good ratings or clearance.
