A very often used and easy way is to import a tune, that you like and study how the arrangment was created.
This must not be used as an tight formular, but could be helpful to get an idea how to add flavour to your own arrangement.

I just listen to what the track brings me and I just imagine how I'm gonna fix it into the song I am playing at that moment.
