Well it sounds like it's all mostly over in NYC, there are a few rare felled trees, and branches on the roads of Williamsburg NY, but no flooding and no major disaster. Reports of brief winds and gusts up to 50-60 mph until later this afternoon, but for the most part seems shady Irene met her shady match in NYC! OMG, I'm such a ham! :)

Welcome, it's calmed down significantly here now, but it was pretty wild at there for a while, seems to have peaked temporarily at 1:30am. Will post again but next time I'll post Irene in full gale! Be safe everyone!

Hurricane Irene is only a tropical depression when it hit NY, so it didn't take much damage.I'm from the Philippines & we often got a lot of typhoons as strong as yours, but i feel safe when a category 4-5 typhoon weakens into a depression.I experienced a category 4 typhoon in 2006 and a Tropical storm in 2009 and a Cat. 1 in 2010.Your so lucky NY, u didn't have those 120kph winds that hit us every year. The video is like a normal monsoon season in here.... Owh, btw, Great Skyline! I like it! :D

I was in hurricane irenne my first hurricane it was zoo scary i was on vacation and i was only 11!

Its another usual day in NYC, smog and sirens, garbage flying by, bennies getting their Hummers and bentlys washed from just getting chased back to the mother land from the "Jersey shore", oh yea its da Shit!

I doesnt seem so bad in the North East of US. NYC had a windy and rainy day.
