The reason why this maternal/paternal testing still works, is because "African-Americans" have been in these lands for only 500 years. You lineages in Africa have been mutating for 70,000 years. Let that sink in for a while.

You may want to study the Arab slave trade. THERE WERE MORE taken into slavery there for a longer period of time, than the trans-Atlantic Slave trade. I am positive the E. Africa was hit as well.
