  • sounds much hipper than a banjo....it's got that bottom happening, and it isn't 'piercing' or offensive. Most of it's simply superior technique......he's a wizard. The late Emily Remler sort of picked up where Wes left off....Woody seems to parallel

    her approach, but with an entirely deifferent style. I love the way he makes that box speak.

  • Resonator type guitars do have a banjo like quality to them and particularly as he obviously has the guitar in an open tuning like some banjo tunings. The thing that gives the game away as not being a banjo is when we hear the lower strings

  • If I close my eyes, I'd swear it was a banjo playing. Certainly a different version from the David Bromberg does.
