MoveOn.org organized a rally and office visit to LAMEborn's office Tuesday over the debt ceiling vote and then he shot off his mouth the Friday before and the rally took on 2 meanings.
Dan Nordberg, one of his office staffers met with the group and this is some edits from that meeting with "B" roll inserts of the rally.

One of his opponents for his seat was there. Bob Evans is a history professor at Colorado College, and running for the CD5 seat. He said Lamborn's use of "tar baby" is "absolutely inexcusable." And "This is not who we want to represent us. This is not the real El Paso County".

Former House District 17 representative Dennis Apuan was also there.

Rosemary Harris Lytle, president of the Colorado Springs chapter of the NAACP, pointed out the obvious: the phrase "tar baby" is too well known to excuse LAMEborn's non-apology apology, although that's just what the GAGzette's editorial writer did, along with his mob of reichwing minions that lurk on the paper's website all day every day.

Ms. Harris-Lytle said, "The world already views us (El Paso County) as ultra conservative, ultra right wing, Tea-Party-loving, gay bashing, an epicenter of hate. With two vitriolic words, our own Congressman again sealed our fate".

Diane Allen-Philips, president of the Urban League of the Pikes Peak Region, said what many, including a member of the MoveOn.org rally said to his staffers, "If Barack Obama was not African American, would he have used the same terminology?"

Quote:
"I don't even want to have to be associated with him. It's like touching a tar baby, and you get it — you know, you're stuck, and you're part of the problem now, and you can't get away". "I don't want that to happen to us (Repiglicans), but if it does, or not, he'll still get — properly so — the blame, because his policies, for four years, will have failed the American people."

Current candidate for president, Mitt Romney also used the racist term in 2009:

Keith Olbermann decided what many of us in CD5 have known for quite a while now: that LAMEborn is the "Worst Person in the World":

  • What is tar baby for 500 please...:{o

  • Protesting name calling and bad analogies with name calling and bad analogies....hmmm...I personally don't care if somebody's green or purple. I don't care what party they supposedly belong to. Just want someone who actually CARES about this country and the people in it, and doesn't let their personal ideaologies dictate their policies. It's the elitists in BOTH parties running this country down the tubes. The best way gov't can help me is to stay OUT of my life!!!

  • Good for them they stood up for what they believe in

  • @davidhbk2012 i dont think those to women are dumb...i think the media has made them out to be less than smart. i dont like obama because he is way to liberal. we need someone that will govern with common sense....someone who is more middle of the road .

  • @usaf317 True ,but one last thing thank you for being the only person who hasn't gotten all mad and call me names for defending obama know to go talk about The only person that's dumber than Sarah Palin Michele Bachmann.

  • @davidhbk2012 i am not sure. but lets not disrespect a man that was a POW for so many years. he served his country when many Americans behaved as cowards.

having said that, i think we can do much better than obama. obama has hurt this country deeply....maybe even more than george w. bush.

  • @usaf317 So you're telling me that John Mccain would have done better.

  • @davidhbk2012 no, they dont. this guy is a socialist. we had to suffer 8 years with that moron bush only to have this SOB elected.

  • @usaf317 Things gotta get worse before they get better.
