I think this game achieves something most racers cant, the feeling of going really really fast. Just watching this makes me feel like I actually AM going 186 MPH

i played outrun 2 when i was young..... i couldnt get through even 1 route!!!! instead i got slapped by a girl in the game...

@Cupcom5 Agreed. I'd say PS2 got the rough end of the deal, what with VF4 being the only, really noteworthy game worth having for the system (I know there was NightShade and Shinobi, but...yeah). Even Gamecube had its fair share of classics; Monkeyball and F-ZERO GX are essential. But Xbox really had the cream of the crop: Outrun, Panzer, Jet Set, Shenmue, the almighty GUNVALKYRIE...man, it made you think maybe Sega WERE better off out of the hardware race.
Then Sammy came along. :-(
