Here is a video to get you over 8500 points in the first 7 levels of buggle stars. It was all completed in one take so there are some mistakes. Note some mess ups in order:
Level 2: Second star can be as high as 164 but usually at least 150.
Level 3: After the 5th star (139) if you stop on the edge of the bounce thing you can collect the 6th star on the fly unlike me missing it.
Level 5: The 7th star can be 200 if you hit the 6th one right. Find that spot before the platform and jump twice to clear the edge as in the video.
Level 6: (2 restarts sorry) After the first 3 stars if done right you can clear 440 points. On the 10th star I miss it first time and get it second (thats preference) but I wasn't suppose to get the 11th there. Hit the spring come off the top bounce into 11 and let the speed hop (not a jump) get you over the ledge to the 12th one which you jump towards.
Level 7: Notice I hesitate to get the first star? Its so the platform on the right has time to get out of my way :) with the right timing you can get very high scores (this is probably the biggest thing people don't do).

on that last level, right after I got the ladt yellow star I barely squeezed outa there and got on the platform right away.
