SYSTEM OF A DOWN DESCENDS ON D.C. FOR ARMENIAN CAUSE

System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan and vocalist Serj Tankian will both head down to Washington, DC on April 24 to get politicians to recognize the Armenian Genocide. The band will embark on a three-day campaign to demonstrate with various Armenian groups to get politicians to stop catering to Turkish lobbyists and recognize the events of World War 1 as a genocide.

The band has long put on their Souls concerts to raise awareness, and in lieu of that this year, they'll head to Washington. In an interview backstage at last year's Souls concert, Tankian said that he was drawn into the cause by hearing what his own grandfather went through.

The idea is not to make you suffer, we as Armenians, want Turkey to recognize the Armenian Genocide as a Genocide.

As an Armenian I am one of the first to say that i don't hate the citizens of Turkey. My hate lies with its leaders that cover up the deaths of 1.5 million people by spreading lies in their schools that the Armenians were taking over the Ottoman empire.

We already signed a treaty that lets Armenians go in to turkey and visa versa, so why cant we agree on this matter too.

Rock bands have always been known for taking on noble causes. System of a Sht has taking a lie and is using it to spread hatred. Racism against Turks is no different then racism in Sudan. Note, Armenians during WW1 were traitors against their own Ottoman government and took up arms and killed innocent unarmed villagers. 3 million died because of Armenian terrorists...

What happened to the Armenians was the result of massive armed rebellion against the ottoman empire, which began even before ww1 broke out and continued on a larger scale.

But to make this a parallel with the holacoust in Germany you should have to assume the jews of Germany had been engaged in an armed rebellion against the German state, collaborating with the allies even before ww2 broke out against Germany.
