While Michael Ellis was visiting Leerburg during the week of April 26th, we filmed our new training DVDs. In addition, we filmed several training sessions of Michael and his dog Pi. In this video, you will see a dog that is extremely engaged with his handler, you will see Michael working on capping his dog's drive for a tug reward, and you will see how playing tug with your dog builds engagement and drive.

Just the commands are in French. Some trainers use commands in a different language to differentiate between work/training and everyday life.

WOW the best part for me was when he says 'we're done' and the dog doesn't give a shit about the toy after and just walks away. As simple as it seems that wasn't easy to get a high drive dog to react like that. Amazing!

Most of his commands are done in French. Down is Coucher (coo-shay). Can't post links but google "Dr. P's dog training commands" for a list of commands in different languages and their pronunciations. Most of the German, French, Czech, and Dutch commands even have audio files.

That's like ultimate engagement for both the dog and Micheal. What word does he use for down and what is its origin? Pushay? The word is also used in the Training with Tugs video. Since I've ruined the word DOWN I plan to use a new one. Also I noticed he used a PLACE command where Pi moved between his legs. The PLACE command is taught in the Obedience Video to mean go to a spot in the house. Does Pi know that command in the house as well?
