Now approaching his 90th, Jim, NAA Elder Statesman of Aviation, Writer, former FAA Assistant Administrator, Retired VP Lear Jet, Reporter, WWII USN parachute tester and all-around early aerial daredevil tells all.
A wonderful man! I saw a list that he made on a legal pad of all of the different aircraft types that he had flown...I recall that it was several pages long! His book "Stunt Flying in the Movies" is great, too!
Thanks to Jim Davis for a great video. Nice to see Harry Combs' friend, pilot and writer, Jim Greenwood. Good to hear this bit of post-war Washington aviation lore. Wish he could be persuaded to tell us more under a full and unconditional blanket pardon. -Bob Bollinger,
Jim passed away last Friday, November 4, 2011. He was a GREAT man and aviator, He'll be missed. God Speed my friend.
