  • id just say if it would be faster it would be more fluid

  • @JermaineATL The young man is a second degree black belt. The young lady is only sixth kyu, four more steps to black belt. She has a way to go before she speeds up a lot, yet the speed they are going here is only about 1/4 what she can really do. The coreography was done slowly to show a movie company who wanted me to do their fight sceens what it looked like. The one I did with the young man is not much faster for that reason.

  • thank you for uploading this training video, sensei: I know nothing about these martial arts, and yet I enjoyed watching the efficiency and economy of movements of your students

  • @bazookagardener That is the nicest thing anyone has said to me so far. I also am very proud of my students. The young man is a second degree black belt in Isshinryu karate and the young lady is a purple belt, or sixth kyu. This demo was for the purposes of presenting a very small portion of what we can do to a couple who wanted me to choreograph fights for a movie they are making. It remains to be seen if the movie ever takes place. I am glad you like it. I hope to add more as time permits.

  • Like i have always said bo-staff is wayyyyyy better (:

  • @mrsgleek12 Remember this is just a slow coreography. The young man is the senior student of my school, and excellent with the swords. Even tho I agree with your statement much of the time, it will always depend on the practitioner, and never the weapon, as long as the weapons are of good quality. I have both lost and won with the bo against a variety of other weapons. Thank you for your comment reguardless.

  • @skateboardsandgirls I realize that you may address all ladies in that manner but

in my world it is considered rude. The young lady is my student, she works hard, she is respectful and fully deserving of respect. As for size, she is 5'8' and the young man is 5'5'. All a matter of perspective. I teach my students to think before they act or speak. You might try the discipline yourself. It usually makes for good martial artists.

First off, where do you live? Second, listen closely. I have a friend that took kenjutsu from a true son of a samurai. He met him in 1970's when the man was 84yrs. old. He learned the real killing arts from him. Today he teaches me the basics of the style and I teach him my escrima. Sometimes he wins and sometimes I do. It is admirable that you want to learn kenjutsu, but don't limit your thinking. Any style you choose is superior, if you are a superior student.
