  • with this Polo, what the hell is the point of getting a Prius? this thing proves that a car can be economical without being a crummy Hybrid

  • VW always get a balance of everything right than the Japanese. I rather drive this sleek looking car than than those damn UFO/egg shaped imports.

  • @sc0tt10 ONLY IF THEY BRING IT TO THE USA

  • Just bought a 3 year old one of these.

    50ish on a motorway 96 mpg,A9 thrash 86 mpg

Round town its 55, a wee bit of urban and its 66mpg

I'm amazed how it does it as it can be still be proper quick ( for what it is)

  • @adriannippy all asians are kissin japanese in the ass but forget there are other players that have other solutions and might be good.Japanese themself know that.Inside the Toyota, the PS3 and ASIMO is an IBM CPU cos it's the best tehnology.Inside the Prius is not a turbodiesel, it's a shit gas engine with 30% thermal efficiency but made in Japan.Result is any turbodiesel beats it on the highway and most are very close in city, so close you cant make up the price difference in vehicle lifetime

  • @adriannippy The japanese lost with the hybrid bid as economy.VW got a large share of market with diesels.China ,Europe and US are main car markets.China and Europe are already taken, Toyota now protects the US market.Prius is a crap, germans did electric hybrid trains when japanese didn't have railways. They know what to bid on, turbodiesel is cheapest economy upgrade of a car.Cut the crap, you will never have a hybrid, but you might get a diesel, sales worldwide reflect that.

  • With the the way the new VW's look I would by one but they don't sell them up here

  • @sc0tt10 That's funny! We are on our 2nd Prius and this is a 2007. We have the $35,000 package. We consistently average 48-50mpg in the states. My Sprinter diesel gets 20mpg with the v6. Toyota is bringing us another 13 mile range on electric of which I am not too impressed. But it is the long trips that are a kick for us. The comfort of the Prius seats is not something I brag about either. They are trying the best they can. Thanks.

  • @adriannippy A prius gets worse mpg, in other words the only reason you'd buy either of these the BM wins over the prius by double.

  • eco cars are suppose to save you money!

    the prius is £18k

    the bluemotion is £12k

and the base model 1.2 litre polo is £8k

if they can make the bluemotion cheap to buy I reckon this car is a real winner!

  • @OneOfaKind949 . . . VW have made a hybrid not yet in production check out the VW-L1

  • Every man's dream? I saw a similar vehicle mentioned online at fasteconomicalcars (.) com
